When my family gets together we can fill up a whole pew at church. It makes me so happy to look down the line of smiling faces on Sabbath morning. I love spending time with them and enjoy frequent long walks that sometimes end up with me knocking on a family member’s door for a visit or meeting a friend for a meal at a local restaurant. The best part of my day is early morning when I can spend time quietly in prayer and Bible study.
I met Tawny at a luncheon during the 2015 Oregon Conference Campmeeting. At the time, my husband and I had been separated for 6 months and I was drawn to Take Heart Ministry by the passion Tawny had for the brokenhearted and lonely. My divorce finalized shortly thereafter and I found myself leaning more on God’s love for me and His faithful work in my life. Being a part of Take Heart Ministry gives me an opportunity to encourage others going through similar situations. A text that continues to fill me with encouragement is Ephesians 3:19, “May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God."
I love my career as a radiologic technologist and with my flexible schedule I find fulfillment working with the General Conference’s Total Member Involvement ministry. This ministry has taken me to Rwanda and Romania where I have had the privilege of sharing the Revelation of Hope message with them. In Rwanda, I also enjoy working with the ministry Impact Hope that assists in the educating of young refugees there. Helping others has contributed to my healing process as I continue my journey in life.
